Curro Preschools

At Curro, our preschools provide high-quality early childhood development for children from 3 months to 5 years, with some accommodating Grade R learners in the same building. Depending on the campus, these schools accommodate children in small class sizes, and their school fees include meals, teachers' assistants, holiday programmes and a fully functional kitchen on-site.

What do we offer?

We provide a safe, nurturing environment in which children are cared for and engaged in play-based developmental activities. Through competitive school fees, our classrooms are designed to encourage educational curiosity, while our playgrounds are equipped with play structures that inspire physical development through movement and play. Our small class sizes are divided by age group, which allows our teachers to spend quality time with each child.

We focus on early childhood development through the ELDAs

At Curro we have developed our own programme, designed with the Early Learning and Development Areas (ELDAs) in mind. This approach to early childhood development aims to stimulate physical, social, emotional and cognitive well-being through developmental activities and engaging play areas. ELDAs focus on aspects such as gross motor development, fine motor development, social awareness, communication, spatial awareness and arts. Our small class sizes, carefully designed playgrounds, safety measures and daily programmes make our preschools a safe and fun-filled home away from home.

Half-day and full-day options

We accommodate parents’ professional and personal needs by having half-day and full-day options. The school fees include breakfast and snacks, while a cooked lunch is included in the fees of either option, depending on the campus. Some campuses even have two-, three-, and four-day options to further accommodate how parents need to plan their week’s activities.

Holiday care

Our preschools remain open during school holidays and run full holiday-care programmes as part of the school fees. Regular early childhood development activities continue, although we may arrange some extra fun activities during this time. A few campuses follow three-term calendars, but still remain open during holidays. We are closed only on public holidays, and for specified periods as reflected on the calendar.

Teachers have assistants

Our classes are divided by age group and each teacher has one or more assistants, depending on the age group and the number of children in the class. There are often more assistants for the younger ones to ensure that each child in our small class sizes receives the necessary love and attention.

Registered nurse or first-aid officers on-site

Children wholeheartedly run, play, climb, and jump, which may sometimes lead to minor bumps and bruises. This is why our teachers are trained in first aid, while some campuses even have a registered nurse on-site during the school day. As per national regulations, teachers may not dispense any medicine, even over-the-counter or herbal tonics, without a valid prescription signed by a medical doctor. Therefore, when a child needs medicine during the day, our first-aid officers or nurse dispense medicine in class only if a valid prescription is provided.

On-site kitchens

Preschools in the Curro group prepare all meals and snacks in our fully functional on-site kitchens. All meals are prepared with fresh ingredients just before being delivered to the classrooms. These meals are included in the school fees and we carefully accommodate allergies and other dietary requirements. A small number of campuses outsource these meals to caterers who specialise in healthy food for young children.
