You get the excellent Curro education
We are committed to providing learners with an excellent education. That is why our approach to teaching the national CAPS curriculum is based on project-based learning and self-discovery. This approach allows our high school learners to explore the learning material beyond just the textbook through research, experiments and assignments, while preparing them for the NSC exams in Grade 12. Regular assessments and tests still take place, but it’s important to us that learners can use their intellectual abilities to make the material real to them in some way. This teaches learners to take initiative and make connections between pieces of knowledge – which further develops critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
What happens in Grade 8 to Grade 12
Our senior phase starts by helping Grade 8 learners grow accustomed to the greater workload of higher intensity in high school. We limit the number of learners in each class to ensure that they get individual attention in exactly the places they need. As part of the Curro school group, our learners also receive guidance when choosing their elective subjects at the end of Grade 9. From Grade 10, we prepare learners for the NSC exams in Grade 12. However, we focus on more than just assessments, by applying the work to real-life situations. This helps learners to understand the work much better, and further empowers them with knowledge and skills to become the leaders of the future.
Teaching takes place in English, and learners can choose Afrikaans and isiXhosa as additional language options. They also have Business Studies as a subject in the FET phase.
A wider subject choice
Our learners can choose elective subjects beyond what is offered at our school. These subjects take place digitally and are presented live by our teachers. Lessons are scheduled during the school day, with supervised self-directed sessions after hours. These subjects can be seen as an extension of the excellent Curro education your child gets with us, and they still write the NSC exam at the end of Grade 12.

How big are our classes
We control the number of learners per class to be no more than 35, so that our teachers have the time and space to give personal attention to each learner, in exactly the places that they need. This is just one of the ways that we create an environment where your child will enjoy what they learn and love coming to school.
We use tablets in class
Technology has become a part of our daily lives and our learners are comfortable around it. By using technology in class, we meet learners where they are and give them a head start in the technology they will use in their eventual workplace. This is why our learners may choose to view textbooks on tablets or in hard copy.
As a Meridian school, we form part of the greater Curro school group and we are managed as part of a joint venture with Old Mutual. Our learners enjoy preference when applying to schools in the group. Nearby schools nearby include Curro Durbanville High School and Curro Uitzicht, with Curro Academy Sandown further away.

Our values
Our school is built on a balance of values that allow learners to learn and grow into the best versions of themselves. We believe that a good education is the basis on which learners can grow to become strong leaders and responsible citizens who will make a positive change in their communities.
Our value system is based on four pillars:
Activities your child can enjoy
One part of the excellent Curro education, is that academics are balanced with sports and cultural activities. Participation in activities promote team-awareness, collaboration, and self-confidence. Activities such as art and choir help learners develop the skills to gather their thoughts and express themselves in creative ways. Our focused variety of activities, such as cheerleading and soccer, are tailored to the interests of learners in our area. Your child is sure to find something that will pique their interest.
We also have a few value-added programmes that further help to develop our learners into well-rounded people. These are character-building programmes that teach respect, good manners, integrity, self-worth, respect for all cultures, and career guidance and entrepreneurship.
