Our heart-led and intentional approach to education makes our school is a place where children love to learn! Our school is founded on strong Christian values (ethics and morals) – and by combining this with a balance between academics and activities, we facilitate growth and wholeness in all areas of life.

HeronBridge College‘s primary school in Fourways offers an excellent education to learners from Grade 1 to Grade 7 as part of the Curro school group. Teaching takes place in English, we have subjects such as isiZulu and Natural Sciences, and an extensive range of activities tailored to the interest of our learners. We also have school transport in multiple surrounding areas, and an aftercare service for your convenience.

We meet each child where they are at
As learners move through each phase, they are gradually introduced to formal learning. Foundation phase focuses on building skills and knowledge in basic areas of language, mathematics, and creative problem-solving. From Grade 4, learners are introduced to self-paced and project-based learning and they start writing examinations from Grade 6.
Teaching takes place in English, but learners benefit from having Afrikaans and isiZulu as additional languages. Outreach, Grow in Christ and devotions form part of our curriculum, and all learners are encouraged to participate in our wide range of sports, cultural and outreach activities.

Specialist support
Our teachers work closely with educational specialists trained in children’s neurological, physical, social, and emotional development. Sessions take place during regular school times, although additional sessions may be arranged in the afternoon. This team is fully integrated into our school and staff. Bridging classes are also offered in Grade 1 and Grade 2 for children who require additional support or extension. This empowers learners to achieve to their full potential in all aspects of their lives.
As part of the Curro school, learners enjoy preference when applying to us from any school in the group. Such schools within a 30-minute drive around us are Curro Fourways, Curro Douglasdale, Cooper College, Magic Beings, Curro Bryanston, Curro Chartwell, Sharonlea Childcare and Pre-primary, Northriding College, Curro Aurora, Curro Riverside, Curro Midrand Sagewood, Meridian Cosmo City, Curro Wilgeheuwel, and Curro Thatchfield.
Chaplaincy and outreach
As a school founded on Christian values (ethics and morals), our outreach and chaplaincy department gives a fuller expression to the vision and mission of our school. This is seen in direct ministry, outreach, mission trips, the Bridge of Hope shop (our on-site community store), and bringing thought leadership and Biblical thinking and teaching to our school.
Ministry is done in classrooms and on the playground, and Grow in Christ is facilitated at school. Outreach is offered both as a co-curricular but also as an initiative that runs as a thread throughout the school. We have served surrounding communicates for 14 years with initiatives such as teacher training, school makeovers, food security through Rise Against Hunger, and the LEGO foundation.

Extensive range of activities
One part of the Curro education, is that academics are balanced with sports and cultural activities. They are critical building blocks in development, teaching commitment, team-awareness, collaboration, and self-confidence. Our extensive range of activities are tailored to the interests of our learners.
