Our preschool is a space that is safe, happy, and full of laughter, built on Christian values (ethics and morals). Everything we do takes a heart-led approach to education, and our caring staff ensures that each child enjoys the individual attention they deserve.

HeronBridge College has a preschool in Fourways that provides high-quality early childhood development for children from 2 years (turning 3) to Grade R. Our classes are divided by age, and we carefully control the number of children per class to ensure that they are all cared for and supported. All teachers have first-aid training and assistants in each class, and each age group has separate outdoor play areas. We also form part of the Curro school group, and have early drop-off times and aftercare (at an additional cost) for your convenience.

Early drop-off times

We accommodate working parents with a challenging commute by opening early in the morning. Children are welcomed by their teachers or teacher’s assistants and enjoy some free play before the preschool programme starts later on.

Aftercare

We offer an aftercare programme during the term at an additional cost. Learners are accommodated in safe classrooms and playgrounds, and we have an ad-hoc option should you need this service from time to time. The fees include a light finger lunch and mid-afternoon snack, and we have half- and full-day options.

Discover our school times and aftercare times by viewing our fact sheet.

As part of the Curro school, learners enjoy preference when applying to us from any school in the group. Such preschools within a 30-minute drive around us, include Curro Fourways, Magic Beings, Curro Bryanston, Curro Chartwell, Sharonlea Childcare and Pre-primary, Northriding College, Curro Aurora, Curro Midrand Sagewood, Curro Wilgeheuwel, and Curro Thatchfield.

Lunch included

Our school fees include a freshly prepared lunch up to Group 5, while learners in Grade R receive a light finger lunch. If your child has any allergies or dietary requirements, you can discuss these with their teacher.  Children should have breakfast at home, and you should please pack a healthy mid-morning snack.

Closed during school holidays with holiday club

The preschool is closed during school holidays but offers a wonderful holiday programme for a determined period. This programme is run by our staff and carries an additional cost for learners both enrolled and not enrolled in aftercare. Activities remain developmental in nature, but we don’t follow any formal programme during this time.

Teachers have assistants

As part of the Curro school group, our classes are divided by age and each teacher has one or more assistants, depending on the group and the number of children in the class. This ensures that each child gets the care and attention they need and that they can optimally benefit from our preschool programme. There are often more assistants for the younger ones and babies, as they have needs unique from any other age group.

Teachers have first-aid training

Children wholeheartedly run, play, climb, and jump, which may sometimes lead to minor bumps and bruises. This is why our teachers are trained in first aid. Please note that national regulations prohibit us from dispensing any medicine, even over-the-counter or herbal tonics, even with a valid medical prescription. Should your child require chronic or life-saving medications, please reach out to our head of preschool.
