Our heart-led and intentional approach to education, rooted in Christian values (ethics and morals) focuses on more than just teaching. We provide an education of the highest quality – one that balances academics with activities, outreach, and personal growth. This helps our learners to become well-rounded, independent, empathetic individuals who are equipped to successfully navigate their everyday lives and make a positive contribution to society.

HeronBridge College‘s high school in Fourways offers an excellent education to learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12 as part of the Curro school group. Teaching takes place in English, we have subjects such as Business Studies and Engineering Graphics and Design, and an extensive range of activities tailored to the interest of our learners. We are also an IEB school, have a school transport service in multiple surrounding areas, and a welcoming, caring boarding school.

We are an IEB school
Our Grade 12 learners write the IEB exams at the end of the year – and our academic results speak for themselves. These exams have a rigorous questioning method that requires learners to apply their knowledge rather than merely reiterate memorised information. However, an excellent education stretches beyond just passing assessments. This is why, throughout their schooling journey, we teach learners the thinking patterns that goes along with applying their knowledge.

Chaplaincy and outreach
As a school founded on Christian values (ethics and morals), our outreach and chaplaincy department gives a fuller expression to the vision and mission of our school. This is seen in direct ministry, outreach, mission trips, the Bridge of Hope shop (our on-site community store), and bringing thought leadership and Biblical thinking and teaching to our school.
Outreach is offered both as an internal activity but also as an initiative that runs as a thread throughout the school. We have served surrounding communicates for 14 years with initiatives such as teacher training, school makeovers, food security through Rise Against Hunger, and the LEGO foundation.
As part of the Curro school, learners enjoy preference when applying to us from any school in the group. Such schools within a 30-minute drive around us are Curro Fourways, Curro Douglasdale, Cooper College, Magic Beings, Curro Bryanston, Curro Chartwell, Sharonlea Childcare and Pre-primary, Northriding College, Curro Aurora, Curro Riverside, Curro Midrand Sagewood, Meridian Cosmo City, Curro Wilgeheuwel, and Curro Thatchfield.

Extensive range of activities
One part of the Curro education, is that academics are balanced with sports and cultural activities. They are critical building blocks in development, teaching commitment, team-awareness, collaboration, and self-confidence. Our extensive range of activities are tailored to the interests of our learners.
