Welcome home

At Curro Langebaan, we know that learners perform best when they feel safe, supported, and comfortable in their living spaces. This is why we went to great lengths to create a warm, caring home where your child (from Grade 5) can enjoy their school years while being support academically, physically and emotionally.

Boarders may decorate their rooms to make them feel at home and we have a comfortable learning area where learners can relax and spend time with their boarding friends. Our boarding school staff fulfil the roles of parent and councillor of sorts, by building a close relationship with each learner.

What we offer

Our boarding school services include laundry and housekeeping, DStv and Wi-Fi, fun planned activities every weekend, and homework assistance offered by four teachers who live on-site. Furthermore, our boarders enjoy three meals per day, which are served in a beautiful dining room. Since Curro Langebaan is nestled in a beautiful sea-side town, we arrange frequent visits to the beach on sunny days.

The housing arrangements

Our rooms accommodate a maximum of four boarders, with one staff member for every 20 boarders. Boys and girls live in separate houses, with full-time boarding staff residing on each property.

We have a daily schedule that balances relaxation and studies, while teachers and boarding staff help to track your child’s academic progress. You as parent are also welcome to visit at any time.

Frequently asked questions

• What happens in a medical emergency?
  We will always try to contact you immediately, though extreme emergency situations may require us to act without delay. We contact the local GP and the nearest hospital is in Vredenburg.
• How do leave arrangements and visits work?
  Boarders sign in and out at reception by the parent/guardian, or an adult authorised by the parent/guardian if they leave the boarding.
• Is theft an issue and how is it dealt with?
  Theft has not been a major problem; however, each case would be dealt with accordingly.
• Who monitors my child’s progress?
  Our boarding school, which include on-site teachers, monitor your child’s academic progress.
• Will my child make friends easily?
  We try our utmost best to assist them by creating a friendly environment.
• Do boys and girls have separate facilities?
  Yes, though they have a common dining area.
• What happens if my child is homesick?
  Our boarding school staff act as parent and councillor, and provide extra comfort and care when your child misses their family.
• How can I communicate with my child?
  Boarders may keep their cellphone with them to connect with their loved ones. They may use these outside of meal times and study times, and before lights out.
