Tablets in class
Learners may use tablets in class to collaborate in teams, conduct research, or receive assignments/additional material from teachers via MS Teams. Using tablets in class allows teachers to provide learners with a wealth of information at the touch of a button. This is just one of the ways in which our enhanced curriculum benefits learners at our Curro School in the increasingly digital-
At Curro Hermanus, our transport service is available to learners travelling to and from our school, at an additional cost as stipulated on our fees letter. Our transport service travels to and from Stanford, Caledon, Hermanus CBD, Pringle Bay, and Gansbaai. Please contact us for more information on how to make use of our transport service or download our transport service information.
Parent Advisory Committee
We encourage parents to play a role in managing our school through a duly-elected parent advisory committee (PAC). As the name indicates, the PAC’s role is strictly an advisory one – they do not make and enforce decisions regarding school matters. The committee comprises of parents of current children. At Curro Hermanus our PAC acts as liaison between the school and parents, raise funds through specific events throughout the year and host social and fellowship events. Through the PAC, parents can share their input in a structured manner to the benefit of the learners and school; as a community they can, therefore, be involved in the operational success of the school.
Curro Hermanus has a creative and functional music centre with a focus on developing our learners’ love of music, their skills in and their passion for the subject. The music centre has more than 100 learners enrolled, with even more learners interested. Music as an elective subject is available from Grade 10, should the learner meet the minimum requirements.
As a Curro School, we created a safe, modern environment where children can grow accustomed to learning and working with modern equipment and facilities. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, projectors, computers, air conditioning and any subject-specific resources required. We also have computer laboratories and a well-resourced media centre. Classrooms for enhanced curriculum subjects such as Robotics and IT are equipped with 21st-century learning tools that allow learners to interact with the learned material through experiments or projects. These specialised facilities are made possible by our competitive school fees.
Our wide variety of sports activities are hosted on state-of-the-art courts and fields. Our sports facilities include an indoor aquatics centre, AstroTurf, tennis/netball courts, rugby/soccer fields, and a 300m athletics track.
