Early drop-off times

We accommodate working parents with a challenging commute by opening early in the morning. Children are welcomed by their teachers or teacher’s assistants and enjoy some free play before the preschool programme starts later on.

Aftercare

We have an aftercare service that keeps children safe until late in the afternoon. They remain safely in their classrooms, or on the playgrounds, until you can pick them up. We also have strict pickup protocols to ensure that only authorised individuals collect children in the afternoons.

School transport

Our school transport service is available to pre-primary school children, at an additional cost. The routes covered by our transport service are as follows:

• Hibberdene
• Port Edward
• Scottburgh
• Shelly Beach
• Southbroom
• Southport
• Umtentweni
• Uvongo

We also have a convenient drive-through drop-off system in place at our school, to ensure that traffic in and out of the campus runs smoothly and quickly. Our staff accompany children to their classes to make sure they remain safe.

Strict pickup protocols

When enrolling with us, you indicate which individuals have permission to pick up your children school. Should you ever need to make alternative arrangements, you can download a pickup consent form from our website, send it to the school, and send your child’s teacher a message informing them of the arrangement.

Teachers have assistants and first-aid training

Our classes are divided by age and teachers have assistants that move between classes, depending on the group and the number of children in the class. This ensures that each child gets the care and attention they need, and that they can optimally benefit from our preschool programme.

Designated teachers are trained in first aid. They take care of slight bumps and bruises that may occur from running and playing while having fun. When a child needs medicine during the day, our first-aid officers dispense medicine only if a valid prescription is provided.

Creston College has a pre-primary in Oslo Beach, Port Shepstone, that provides high-quality early childhood development for children from 3 years to Grade R. Our internally developed pre-primary programme engages inherent curiosity and love of play, while supporting their well-being all-round. We also form part of the Curro school group, and have early drop-off times and aftercare options.
