Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy
Head girl: Abigail Welch
I have been a learner of Curro Roodeplaat High School since Grade 8; I was even fortunate enough to join the new school building as it was opened in 2018 and I could continue my journey here until matric. These past five years at Curro Roodeplaat have brought me delight and comfort, and I am thankful to have been part of the family and community that has been established within the school. During these past few years, I was also entrusted with the responsibility of head girl and although it came with its trials and challenges, it was ultimately a joyful experience and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to have led our school.
Being a learner and head girl of Curro Roodeplaat has allowed me to learn and grow momentously and it has been a wonderful commitment which I would not trade for anything. As my time here comes to an end, I want to wish all my fellow Grade 12s the best of luck with their future endeavours and I want to wish the Grade 11s all the best with their last year in high school. I strongly believe that every one of you has the ability to do great things and I am certain that all your futures are bright.

As my term as head boy comes to an end, I’d like to say a few words and share a few thank-yous. It was a huge honour to serve as head boy and it brought me pride – and brought my family pride as well.
Thank you to every staff member for trusting me with this prestigious position. You influenced my education as well as who I am today. To my fellow Roodies, thank you for all the memories you helped me create at sports events, cultural events, and just at school in general.
Matrics, we’ve reached the final stretch of the road and I pray that the Lord keeps you well.
