Walvis Bay Gymnasium has a primary school in Erongo region, Namibia. We provide an excellent education to learners from Grade 1 to Grade 7. This means that your child receives an all-round education that balances academics with sports and cultural activities. Teaching takes place in English and Afrikaans, we limit our class sizes to make sure learners get personal attention, and they benefit from having Robotics as a subject. We also form part of the Curro school group, have aftercare and a school transport service, and we close earlier on Fridays so that you can enjoy your weekend.

An excellent education

We are committed to providing learners with an excellent education. That is why our approach empowers our primary school learners to explore the learning material beyond just the textbook through research, experiments and assignments. Regular assessments and tests still take place, but it’s important to us that learners can use their intellectual abilities to make the material real to them in some way.

With us, your child can grow into a confident person who will be ready for their further, more formal, education and ultimately become a leader who can take charge in their own lives and make a great contribution to society.

How big are the classes

We control the number of learners per class to be no more than 25, so that our teachers have the time and space to give personal attention to each learner, in exactly the areas that they need. This is just one of the ways that we create an environment where your child will enjoy what they learn and love coming to school.

We use iPads in class

Technology has become a part of our daily lives and our learners are comfortable around it. By using technology in class, we meet learners where they are and give them a head start in the technology they will use in their eventual workplace. This is why learners from this phase use iPads in class to enhance the learning experience.

As part of the Curro school group, learners enjoy preference when applying to us from any school in the group. Should you and your family relocate to Walvis Bay, we help you through the transfer process from start to finish.
