Welcome to Meridian Rustenburg High School

Meridian Rustenburg has a high school in Rustenburg, North West, with a high school phase that offers quality education for learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12. With focused sports and cultural activities and an enhanced curriculum, we prepare learners for the NSC examination at the end of Grade 12 and aim to ensure affordable school fees without compromising our academic standards.

As a Meridian school, our school is managed by Curro as part of a joint venture with Old Mutual and the Public Investment Corporation.

Senior phase: Grade 8 and Grade 9

In these grades, we guide learners to adjust to a greater workload of higher intensity. With dedicated teachers and affordable school fees, our enhanced curriculum approach places great emphasis on problem-solving and individual thinking. Teaching takes place in English, but Afrikaans is offered as an additional language option, and 21st-century skills are implemented in subjects such as Natural Sciences and Technology. As a Meridian school, our learners also receive guidance when choosing their elective subjects at the end of Grade 9.

FET phase: Grade 10 to Grade 12

This phase prepares learners for the NSC examinations written at the end of Grade 12. However, through our enhanced curriculum, we emphasise a greater world-readiness rather than a purely examinations-driven approach. Our learners are taught to think innovatively, express their ideas and take charge of their own lives to be valued members of the community. Learners further benefit from having Afrikaans or Setswana as additional language options, and 21st-century skills are implemented in subjects such as Physical Sciences and Computer Applications Technology.

A wider subject choice

Our learners can extend their subject choices beyond what is offered at our school. They can choose from a wide range of subjects, and classes take place during the school day in the form of live lessons with teachers. These subjects can be seen as an extension of our enhanced curriculum from which our learners already benefit. Assignments and tests still take place, learners write the same NSC examinations, and the marks reflect on their regular progress reports.
