Tablets in class
As a Curro School, learners from intermediate phase onwards may choose to use tablets in class rather than textbooks. Using tablets in class allows teachers to provide learners with a wealth of information at the touch of a button. This is just one of the ways in which our enhanced curriculum benefits learners in the increasingly digital-reliant world we live in.
Airborne aviation programme
Through a partnership with Airborne Aviation (based at Brakpan Airfields), we are offering our learners the opportunity to obtain their private pilot’s licence (PPL) by the time they are 17. Once they turn 18, they will also have the opportunity to accumulate flight hours towards their commercial pilot’s licence (CPL), which they will be able to complete in their post-matric year. Learners must be 16 years old to start their PPL. The rigorous programme, which is not included in our school fees, involves 156 hours of lectures and testing, 50 hours in a flight simulator and 45 hours of flying. Contact us to find out more about our aviation programme.
As a Curro School, we have created a safe, modern environment where children can grow accustomed to learning and working with modern equipment and facilities. Therefore, classrooms and laboratories for specialised subjects are equipped with the latest technology and tools that provide them with 21st-century skills. Classrooms for enhanced curriculum subjects such as Robotics and IT are equipped with state-of-the-art tools that allow learners to interact with the learned material through experiments or projects. These specialised facilities are made possible by our competitive school fees.
Excellent activity facilities
Our wide variety of sports and cultural activities are hosted on state-of-the-art courts and fields, as well as carefully designed studios tailored to the activities’ requirements – all part of our commitment to providing learners with 21st-century skills. Our activity facilities include tennis/netball courts as well as rugby/soccer fields. We are also the only school in the Brakpan area with an AstroTurf court.
