You get the excellent Curro education
We are committed to providing learners with an excellent education. That is why our approach to teaching the national CAPS curriculum is based on project-based learning and self-discovery. This approach allows our primary school learners to explore the learning material beyond just the textbook through research, experiments and assignments. Regular assessments and tests still take place, but it’s important to us that learners can use their intellectual abilities to make the material real to them in some way.
Our learners also use laptops in class to view e-books and for communication via MS Teams. This, in addition to project-based learning, better prepares them with knowledge and skills that will stretch beyond the classroom.
What happens in Grade R to Grade 7
Our foundation phase starts by helping Grade R learners get ready for the formal learning that starts in Grade 1. In this phase, they learn the basic foundations on which all further learning is based:
In the intermediate phase, the work becomes less tangible or real, and more abstract. To do this, learners start with project-based learning, which means they do research, assignments, and experiments to explore the material outside just the textbook.
Teaching takes place in English, and learners can choose Afrikaans and isiZulu as additional language options. They also have Robotics as a subject.

How big are the classes
We control the number of learners per class to be no more than 25, so that our teachers have the time and space to give personal attention to each learner, in exactly the places that they need. This is just one of the ways that we create an environment where your child will enjoy what they learn and love coming to school.
More than just academics
As part of our commitment to the great Curro education, we have value-added programmes at no additional cost that help learners excel! Academic enrichment lessons I English, Mathematics, and a first additional language help to provide a solid understanding and foundation for further learning, and our learners write the IEB international benchmarking tests in Grade 6.
Our values
Our school is built on a balance of values that allow learners to learn and grow into the best versions of themselves. We believe that a good education is the basis on which learners can grow to become strong leaders and responsible citizens who will make a positive change in their communities.
Our value system is based on four pillars:
Activities your child can enjoy
One part of the excellent Curro education, is that academics are balanced with sports and cultural activities. Participation in activities promote team-awareness, collaboration, and self-confidence. Activities such as art and choir help learners develop the skills to gather their thoughts and express themselves in creative ways. Our wide variety of activities, such as eisteddfod and robotics club, are tailored to the interests of learners in our area. Your child is sure to find something that will pique their interest.
