Curro Academy Pretoria is an independent school in East Lynne, Pretoria, that provides high-quality education for learners from Grade R to Grade 7. Our limited class sizes and enhanced curriculum empower learners with 21st-century skills and knowledge to grow into high-performing, self-confident individuals and to reach their personal, educational and eventual-workplace goals. As a Curro Academy school, we aim to provide the most affordable school fees possible without compromising our academic standards.
Foundation phase: Grade R to Grade 3
Our foundation phase starts by providing the emotional and intellectual foundation required to handle the formal learning that starts in Grade 1. Through our enhanced curriculum provided in limited class sizes, we then gradually develop learners’ 21st-century skills and knowledge in basic areas such as language (comprehension, speaking, and listening), mathematics (counting and understanding numbers), and creative problem-solving in an environment where they enjoy coming to school. Learners at our Curro Academy school even benefit from being introduced to Robotics through Duplo Lego having Sepedi as a conversational language subject.
Intermediate phase: Grade 4 to Grade 7
In these grades, learners are taught to work with the learned material in an abstract manner. The nature of the content gradually builds from being tangible and real, to more intellectual and abstract. Our limited class sizes and enhanced curriculum provides learners with an inherent dedication to hard work and excellence as well as 21st-century skills to prepare them for the workplace of the future. Learners further benefit from having Sepedi as a conversational language, as well as advanced subjects such as Creative Arts and Computer Literacy – all included in our affordable school fees.

Curro Academy Pretoria activities
As a Curro Academy school, we believe that participation in activities plays an important role in promoting health, discipline, self-confidence and community. Therefore, our focused activities are designed to help learners discover their inherent talents, or to broaden their exposure beyond their current reference framework. These activities are generally included in our affordable school fees. Some of our activities are aimed at boosting learners’ cognitive abilities, while others provide pure enjoyment.
Extramural activities are offered by external tutors or coaches. They are offered at an additional cost and generally take place on the school’s premises. Some extramural activities are aimed at improving or supporting academic learning or mental and physical development, while others are purely recreational.

Community outreach programmes
At Curro Academy Pretoria, we believe that outreach programmes are important not only to benefit the community, but also to develop appreciation and empathy in our learners. Therefore, we host various ad hoc outreach programmes during the year and learners are actively involved in all areas of the project.
