Curro Academy Mamelodi is an independent school in Mamelodi, Pretoria, that provides high-quality education for learners from Grade R to Grade 7. Our small class sizes and enhanced curriculum empower learners with 21st-century skills and knowledge to grow into self-confident individuals. We aim to provide the most affordable school fees possible without compromising our academic standards. Our learners from intermediate phase onwards even use tablets in class.
Foundation phase: Grade R to Grade 3
As a Curro Academy school, our foundation phase starts by providing the emotional and intellectual foundation required to handle the formal learning that starts in Grade 1. Through personal attention to learners in small class sizes, we then gradually develop learners’ 21st-century skills and knowledge in basic areas such as language (comprehension, speaking, and listening), mathematics (counting and understanding numbers), and creative problem-solving in an environment where they enjoy coming to school. Learners at our school benefit from being introduced to Robotics through Duplo Lego as part of our affordable school fees.
Intermediate phase: Grade 4 to Grade 7
In these grades, learners are taught to work with the learned material in an abstract manner. The nature of the content gradually builds from being tangible and real, to more intellectual and abstract. Our small class sizes and enhanced curriculum provides learners with an inherent dedication to hard work and excellence as well as 21st-century skills to prepare them for the workplace of the future.
We use tablets in class
As a Curro Academy school, our learners from the intermediate phase onwards may use tablets in class rather than textbooks. By using 21st-century technology in class, our learners get a head start in growing familiar with the ever-changing world of technology used in the workplace of the future. As part of our commitment to affordable school fees, learners may choose whether to use textbooks rather than e-learning methods.

Curro Academy Mamelodi activities
We believe that sports and cultural plays an important role in providing learners with 21st-century skills such as team-awareness, collaboration and self-confidence. Therefore, our focused activities, including Curro Tennis and Cycle2Ride programmes, are designed to help learners discover their inherent talents, or to broaden their exposure beyond their current reference framework. Some of our activities are aimed at boosting learners’ cognitive abilities, while others provide pure enjoyment. Our learners also participate in the FIRST Lego League, which is a global robotics competition aimed at challenging learners to develop skills in problem-solving, coding and engineering. Learners emerge more confident, excited, and equipped with skills they may need in the workplace of the future.

Curro Academy Mamelodi community outreach
As a Curro Academy school, we believe that outreach programmes are important not only to benefit the community, but also to develop appreciation and empathy in our learners. Therefore, we host various outreach programmes during the year and learners are actively involved in all areas of the project.
