Curro Hermanus celebrates outstanding multi-category success for Grade 8 performer
08 December 2025Curro Hermanus is celebrating the achievements of Grade 8 learner Mishka Marais, who excelled at the final round of a national talent competition in Pretoria. The school shared: ‘Mishka Marais in Grade 8 took part this past weekend in the Final Round of a National Talent Competition in Pretoria. Mishka performed excellently and received the following awards.’
Mishka placed first in Afrikaans monologue, Afrikaans poetry, English prose, English poetry, and music flute. She was also named the overall winner for Music Individual Grade 8–9. In addition to these top results, she achieved second place in Afrikaans monologue and Afrikaans prose, showing consistency across both languages and performance formats.

A year of continued artistic achievement
The school added that Mishka has taken part in various Eisteddfods and talent competitions over the past year, earning 57 certificates. Of these, 34 were Cum Laudes and Special Awards for Outstanding Performances. National platforms such as the Young Performer Awards Competition and events hosted in Pretoria and Vanderbijlpark draw performers from across the country, and Mishka’s results place her among South Africa’s promising young artists.
