Meridian Karino Matric 2022

You had a bear celebrity with a special bear identity, who helped you forget your worries and your strife. Matric is an important and often stressful year, but it’s also a time to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Your school’s teddy shared in the experience!

Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy

Head girl: Malwande Buthelezi

Being an academic achiever at Meridian Karino has been the greatest experience because I got to learn and challenge myself when it comes to my academics. 2019 was one of my favourite years in high school because I was able to achieve all my goals and received a lot of awards for my hard work. I’ve always had good leadership skills; however, being the head girl has taught me a lot. It has been a great experience because I discovered my skills and got to know more about myself. I have learnt a lot about being a leader and enhanced my communication skills.

I love my school and my school life. All my teachers loved me and always supported me. I have learnt discipline and punctuality from my teachers, and it will help me a lot in my future. I am proud to be a learner at this school, and I will always miss my school after leaving. I wish all the success to my school.

To the future matric class, it is very essential for you to remember that everyone is not privileged enough to get an education. If one gets this opportunity, then be grateful and work towards being a better human being. Cherish your school life and stay motivated. Respect your leaders and teachers and help them make the school a better place. Good luck, mates.

Head boy: Bheki Sikhosana

My journey from Grade 7 up until now (Grade 12) has been a wonderful one. My whole high school life has been here at Meridian Karino. I must say it was five years filled with joy and excitement. I cannot imagine what I would have been like if I was in another school. I have learnt a lot about myself and my fellow learner leaders over the past six to eight months. We have worked together, fought together and united – having a clear idea of our mission and vision.

I would love to thank all the teachers who believed in me and thought that I would be a good example of what is expected from any school leader. I hope that I will be able to take all that I have learnt this year and apply this in the rest of my life. I wish nothing but the best for the learner leaders of 2023 and I hope you guys will not drop the ball.
