Meridian Cosmo City Matric 2022

You had a bear celebrity with a special bear identity, who helped you forget your worries and your strife. Matric is an important and often stressful year, but it’s also a time to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Your school’s teddy shared in the experience!

Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy

Head girl: Unathi Sizo Nkosi

‘Do not undersell yourself’ is something our late Executive Head, Mr Masuku used to tell me repeatedly after I had shared my academic goals with him. It took me three years to understand what he really meant. Today I want to remind the Class of 2022, or should I say our future leaders, to never sell yourselves short. At Meridian Cosmo City we are taught how powerful of a tool the mind is, with that being said, never undermine what you can achieve with yours. Do not restrict abilities tomorrow because of what you could not achieve yesterday. Do not lower the standards for yourself to fit in and be average. As our Executive Head, Mrs Langa would say, ‘Why fit in when you were meant to stand out?’. You are not ordinary, you are remarkable.

Always work towards being outstanding. As we are ending our exceptional and memorable high school journey, it is important to go into the world trusting of our judgement and abilities. Whatever you are aiming to achieve this year, believe me, it is possible. Remember, if you can imagine it, you can achieve it. I believe in every single one of you. THERE IS A HERO IN EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US.

Head boy: Lisakhanya Sigcine Tembe

High school is a great place. A place full of adventure, diverse people, and lots of fun. Being in high school is not an easy journey, it never was, but what is important is to not let anything bring you down. In high school, you are faced with many challenges, both academically and personally. There are times when you will feel like giving up and nothing matters anymore but it is important that you are resilient, which is one of the values at Meridian Cosmo City I hold dear to my heart.

Having resilience as a personal value is essential as you can get up, dust yourself off and move on despite the setback. One important thing to have, is individualism. Don't be a follower, be the leader that Meridian Cosmo City shapes its learners to be. Stay true to yourself; don't change just because you want to fit in. High school is all about having fun and enjoying your time in high school because high school is once in a lifetime, so make the most out of the experience.
