Curro Waterfall Matric 2022

You had a bear celebrity with a special bear identity, who helped you forget your worries and your strife. Matric is an important and often stressful year, but it’s also a time to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Your school’s teddy shared in the experience!

Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy

Head girl: Welisa Buthelezi

The most valuable lesson I’ve learned in high school is that the greatest life lessons result from failures and it is the lessons learnt from those mistakes that help make us who we become. It is just a matter of accepting and realising that it is supporting the person you are trying to become.

Being a high school learner is not just about going to school and learning new things. It is about the challenges you face and how you push past the obstacles to see them as opportunities. My experience was filled with both laughter and tears. However, I have realised that high school is what you make of it and is a time of great change in everybody.

‘Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it … but it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward … that’s how winning is done!’ – Rocky Balboa

Head boy: Asive Mdlankomo

This year (and my whole high school journey) has shown me that life has many ups and downs for all of us. I have experienced so many amazing moments with lovely people, but there have also been times in which I have felt the most alone in this world. Times in which I have had the most fun, but also times in which I felt like my world was falling apart. While life is filled with both good and bad, sometimes it feels like the world is cursed and all there is in the world is suffering.

There have been times, especially this year, when it felt like all I wanted to do was give up. I have lost people who were dear to me. However, throughout this year I have learnt hardship is a part of the human experience. The world is indeed full of suffering, but still even in this accursed world in which we all live, we will always find reasons to keep going – knowing that there will always be better days ahead.
