Curro Vanderbijlpark Matric 2022

You had a bear celebrity with a special bear identity, who helped you forget your worries and your strife. Matric is an important and often stressful year, but it’s also a time to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Your school’s teddy shared in the experience!

Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy

Head boy: Somila Chabula

Life is not an easy journey. You will face ups and downs and you will face many defeats – but one thing to remember is to never let yourself be defeated, for a rainbow always appears after the storm.

Head girl: Asimtuse Cele

I always thought that I knew who I was and whom I wanted to become. After this year, I’ve come to understand that who I am is more than what I had previously believed. Through our ups and downs we learn and grow, outgrow the person we used to be, outgrow our friends and even our surroundings. Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything – maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you so that you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.

I’m deeply honoured to have been your first-ever head girl and I really enjoyed the experience! We created memories, made new friends and adopted new traditions that will live long. I’m extremely grateful to have had the support from my Curro family, parents and friends. I hope I’ve put a smile on your faces as you did with mine.
