Curro Somerset West, Sitari Estate, Matric 2022

You had a bear celebrity with a special bear identity, who helped you forget your worries and your strife. Matric is an important and often stressful year, but it’s also a time to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Your school’s teddy shared in the experience!

Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy

Head girl: Amy Britton

Make the most of it! You will never get any minute that has passed in your life back again, so once again – make the most of it. Laugh loudly at stupid jokes with your friends, have fun with your teachers, embrace new friendships and bring the spirit to every event. Who cares what people think, you do you.

Others might flourish and you might feel behind or left out, but you should always remember that we are all uniquely made and our academic/sports/cultural abilities do not determine who we are – they help us develop hidden talents and grow our interests and knowledge to cope with the world in which we are growing.

Psalm 46:10 reminds us that we can be still and know that He is God. Believe in yourself and trust in your faith. Make the most of your life!

Head boy: Justin Haas

School is a weird place. You experience many highs and lows. You meet so many amazing people along the way of whom some turn out to be your friends. You make memories which you will remember for the rest of your life.

I encourage future learners to be curious and adventurous and to not be trapped behind their books for hours on end thinking the higher their marks the more chance they have of succeeding in life. Learners should always be trying new things and meeting new people when they are young. Learners should leap out of their comfort zones because in the end, nothing grows there. Be crazy and weird and never be afraid of what anyone thinks. Don’t be part of the herd, remember to stand out.
