Curro Midrand Sagewood Matric 2022

You had a bear celebrity with a special bear identity, who helped you forget your worries and your strife. Matric is an important and often stressful year, but it’s also a time to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Your school’s teddy shared in the experience!

Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy

Head girl: Ntsako Mngomezulu

11 years ago. That was the first time and the first moment I anxiously stepped into the primary of (then) Sagewood School as the streams of tears and hiccups between each sob gave away my fear. Fear of not knowing whether I would have a friend to play with, whether my parents would ever come to fetch me, and if I would get a golden star on my forehead. Little did I know that the ground that soaked up my tears would nurture my well-being and give me new opportunities meant to guide my journey.

Becoming the head girl of Curro Midrand Sagewood was a roller-coaster ride which I wish did not have to end. To my teachers and Mr Du Toit, the opportunity you gave me improved my emotional intelligence and excelled my academics. To my Class of 2022, there is a season and time for everything and sadly our season together is coming to an end. I have no doubt that behind our playfulness, we are the greatest matric group to ever work together and achieve academic success. Let us continue to work hard so we can grace the world with our presence.

Head boy: Rolindela Sigogo

Writing and scratching, writing and scratching, writing and scratching. It was tough to come up with the right words to explain my high school experience. Well, I finally understand why teachers refer to these times as the best times of your life – from being a troublesome and disruptive young boy to becoming a humble and respectful leader. In Grade 8, I thought I was going to get through high school untouched, unbothered, and pretty much as a nobody … well, I was wrong. I’m glad I was wrong because it was here at this very school, Curro Midrand Sagewood, that for the very first time I felt like I was a part of something.

I am forever thankful for those experiences. To the teachers who moulded me, I appreciate the values you instilled in a young gentleman such as myself. Thank you for believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for showing me that I could lead. I would further like to extend my gratitude to teachers Mrs Singh, Mrs Jamal, Mrs Govender, Mr Makowa, Mr Letswalo and Mr Motswalo just to name a few. You have shown and taught me persistency, respect and love and I will be forever indebted to you all for that.
