Curro Klerksdorp Matric 2022

You had a bear celebrity with a special bear identity, who helped you forget your worries and your strife. Matric is an important and often stressful year, but it’s also a time to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Your school’s teddy shared in the experience!

Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy

Head girl: Nandi Marotholi

We came to the school new and really scared of what high school might have in store for us. From strangers to classmates to making friends, and in just a year Curro Klerksdorp had become our second home. Through the many sports and cultural events we were able to meet other learners and make more friends. Each of us have had our very own experience of what high school is. We all had our fair share of laughter during the good and bad times, as well as sleepless nights because of procrastination. This is the school spirit that Curro Klerksdorp caries so proudly.

With just a few months or even days left, we start our countdown to the end of high school. With DK (our teddy bear) joining us for our last few days, we hope to make more meaningful memories. We count down to not waking up at 05:00 in the morning. We count down to the relief of finishing our last final exam. Who would have thought that five years later, everything would be coming to an end. We have made memories that will last forever. Memories that were captured and memories that allowed us to be in the moment. We leave with lifelong lessons. We leave with amazing friendships. We leave with important values that the teachers have taught us. Good luck to all the matrics of 2022.

Head boy: Lereko Makgate

Who would have thought that this day would come? A day long awaited, yet a day most dreaded. It seems like yesterday we were sitting together in the school hall and being told that our five-year journey begins now, this was a day we all wanted to cry; but now we sit here in disbelief with the same tears in our eyes as we count down the final days of our high school career.

We as the Curro Klerksdorp Class of 2022 have been through a lot together; once meeting as strangers but leaving as brothers and sisters, much like the plot to a Fast and Furious movie because at the end of the day all we have is family. A bond dating all the way back to the times of the ‘Ugandan Knuckle’ being asked, ‘Do you know the way?’. A way we did not know then, a way we clearly did not know when we got lost in the mountains and a way we still do not know today as we sit with uncertainty and fear about the future. And though we may go our separate ways we will forever be tied together by the memories we shared, because even though we may not know the way we are going, we will always know the way back home.
