Let’s hear it from your head girl and boy
Head girl: Bonolo Mpotoane
If someone had told me four years ago that I’d be the head girl of Curro Bloemfontein, I wouldn’t have believed them. I joined this school in Grade 11 only so being elected was a shock and a blessing. It’s been a great experience thus far; an experience I wouldn’t trade for any other. This taught me many things such as enhancing my leadership skills, learning to be the voice of the voiceless and to lead and teach by example.
Matrics, you’ve made it this far. This journey hasn’t been easy for all of us but we persevered through it all. As much as you’ve been working hard throughout the years, now is the time for all of us to work even harder to make it past the finish line successfully. It’s important that we keep our heads in the academic game and to not lose focus at this critical stage. As we’re reaching the end of this chapter in our lives, the new chapter will only be the beginning of this ‘life’ thing that will certainly be filled with many blessings, successes, failures and lessons from which to learn.
Head boy: Bradley Horing
Like everyone else's experience at Curro Bloemfontein, mine is full of lessons and memories that one can only treasure; becoming the head boy of such a well-known school is one of those priceless memories. Taking on this role was physically and intellectually taxing, but it gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about who I am, develop skills I didn't know I possessed, and understand what it means to be a leader. I was able to use my skills and abilities as a leader to empower learners.
This role taught me that there is no such thing as a self-made man; I wouldn't be where I am today without the love and support of my friends, family, and peers, and most importantly, the gift of life that God has bestowed upon me, which I never imagined would turn out so well for me. I will be eternally grateful to the teachers for the time they spent helping me develop into the person I am today, from the moment I stepped through the school doors to the moment I leave. Thank you for seeing past my flaws and putting your faith in me to take on such an important position. I hope your memories of me are as good as mine of you.
