Year 12 learner selected for Clay Target World Championships
14 May 2025Jake Reyneke, a Year 12 learner at Courtney House International School, has made an exceptional start in clay target shooting – just months after first taking up the sport. His rapid rise has earned him a place on the South African Junior Team heading to the FITASC Universal Trench World Championships in Kornos Village, Cyprus, from 24 to 27 July 2025.

From first shot to national selection
Jake only began clay target shooting in January 2025, yet by April, he had already been invited to the South African Grand 2025 Junior Challenge Team Event in Pretoria. He went on to win gold at the Limpopo Standard Championship Juniors and placed first overall in the Gauteng North division. These strong performances secured his invitation to compete internationally – both as part of the South African Junior Team and as an individual competitor.

Eyes on the world stage
The FITASC Universal Trench World Championships is a major event on the global shooting calendar, attracting top junior and senior competitors. Jake’s selection is a significant milestone, both for him personally and for the broader Courtney House community.
