Jayden Naudé – a true testament to the impact of an involved parent
09 March 2024A dad’s passion for golf and love for spending time with his son inspired a passion for the sport that resulted in a young Curro Langebaan learner recently winning the SA Kids Golf Tournament in his age group.
Jayden Naudé from Curro Langebaan developed his love of golf even before he could walk. His dad spent quality time with his by taking him on trips to the golf course since Jayden was in diapers. At two, Jayden imitated dad with his own plastic clubs and soft sponge balls. At three, he got his own first Cleveland club set.
A natural talent
His affinity for golf was so clear that his parents enlisted the services of Gavin Voster, a professional golfer and coach who lives in the same estate they do. He started his lessons at the young age of six and played his first tournament for Boland Golf Union at eight. This where he truly started getting used to the inns and outs of a trajectory in golf.
‘Jayden spends all his free time on the driving range with his dad. He always has his own bag of golf balls to hit,’ shared Jayden’s proud mom. ‘He eats and sleeps golf – he loves it!’ If he’s not playing at the estate’s golf course, he’s putting at the driving range. He still enjoys weekly sessions with Gavin Voster and has played on ranges in Durbanville, De Zalze, Somerset West, Somerset West and many more. He and his dad even won a father-son tournament!
Big dreams for this young man
Jayden has every intension of pursuing his passion. He hopes to one day participating in the PGA tour – and, one day, even the Masters tournament.
