Here we though that achieving eight distinctions, receiving 100% for Mathematics and being within the top 1% for the IEB exams in Grade 12 is as impressive as it gets. We were wrong! 

On 21 August 2021 Ralph McDougall, former Curro Durbanville learner, also came first in the South African Tertiary Mathematics Olympiad (Satmo) where he competed against undergraduate and honours university students from across South Africa. This is the second year in a row that Ralph has won the olympiad. Amazing! 

Ralph is currently in his third year at Stellenbosch University and studying towards a degree in electronic engineering. We couldn’t be prouder of him and cannot wait to see what he does next.
