Chantel van der Merwe is a former learner of Curro Salt Rock.

She matriculated in 2018 and recently returned to the school to speak about her exciting life as a farmer and traveller. After her school career, Chantel relocated to Oamaru, New Zealand where she worked as an assistant on a dairy farm – she helped deliver the calves, milked the cows and ensured everyone else did their jobs.

She quickly proved herself to be more than just an assistant and within only three months she was promoted to shed manager. Wow!

Chantel is currently back in South Africa to prepare for her next adventure, which will be in China. She is also studying Dairy Production and Management through Pennsylvania State University.
