Meridian Pinehurst’s Deeca-Skye Afrikaner excels at FDDCMSA National Championship
11 October 2024Deeca-Skye Afrikaner, part of the Durbanville Junior Majorettes, represented her team at the FDDCMSA National Championship in July at Hoërskool Eldoraigne in Pretoria. Deeca-Skye and team competed against teams from seven provinces, and they excelled by achieving top positions across several categories.
Dominating in the Junior Small and Large Drill divisions
The Durbanville Junior Majorettes took home the Overall National Champions title in both the Junior Small Drill and Large Drill divisions. They secured first place in Leader, Sub-leader, and Display sections for Small Drill, as well as in Leader, Sub-leader, and Squad sections for Large Drill. These results underscore the team’s undoubted skill.

Additional wins across events
In addition to the drill events, Durbanville’s squad placed 1st in Mace Mini and Pom Mini, alongside top finishes in Flag Duo and Large Flag Group categories. Competing against over 1,000 athletes, Deeca-Skye’s efforts contributed to a successful performance in a highly competitive environment.
