Lexi-B takes top honours at Gauteng dance competition
23 July 2025Courtney House International School Year 9 learner, known as ‘Lexi-B’ stood out at the South African Body of Dance (SABOD) Gauteng Provincial Performing Arts competition in May 2025, held at Pinnacle College, Founder’s Hill.
She claimed three first-place awards – two in Contemporary and one in Lyrical dance – and finished second in Jazz. Her consistent scoring placed her among the standout performers of the event, with two trophies and five medals to her name.

A journey from early passion to global goals
Having started dancing at the age of six, she continues to compete across multiple events to build her stage experience. She is currently working towards qualifying for the Dance World Cup 2027, set to take place in Ireland. Her achievements have been celebrated by SABOD and her studio, Courtney College, with social media posts capturing her performances and podium finishes.

Recognition and support from the community
Her progress reflects the strength of Curro’s performing arts platforms and highlights what is possible when talent meets opportunity. While she continues to inspire with every step, turn and leap, she knows her school community is behind her – all the way on her path towards her international dreams.
