Curro Esports presents the Western Cape LAN event, hosted by Curro Durbanville Primary School. This epic gaming extravaganza, sponsored by ACER in partnership with ACGL, takes place on 23 and 24 June 2023. Prepare for an unforgettable experience that will test competitors’ gaming skills and their competitive spirit.

LAN, short for local area network, unites gamers from various schools in the Western Cape – not just Curro. It's the perfect opportunity to marvel at gaming talents in a thrilling atmosphere alongside like-minded Esports enthusiasts. After a temporary shift to virtual tournaments, LAN events are triumphantly returning – delivering an unparalleled gaming experience.

As mentioned, this event is not exclusive to Curro schools. Schools from across the region are invited to join in on the action, so this is your chance to see how your school's Esports teams measure up against the best of the best.

Prepare for action-packed battles as the tournament features four thrilling titles: Minecraft, Valorant, Rocket League, and Overwatch 2. These games will push teams to their limits, requiring strategy, coordination and lightning-fast reflexes to secure victory.

Curro Durbanville Primary School has created an incredible gaming environment, with 148 stations available for competitors thanks to ACGL. When not competing, participants can relax in the ‘chill room’, enjoying games such as FIFA. The preliminary rounds will be held in the hall, while the finals will take centre stage, broadcasted on massive screens for an electrifying spectacle.

Participating schools include Curro Durbanville Primary and High School, Curro Somerset West, Curro Brackenfell, Curro Century City, Curro Mossel Bay as well as community schools such as Paul Roos Gymnasium, Pinelands High School, Edgemead High School, Stellenberg High School, and Paarl Boys’ Primary School. Additionally, six independent teams will showcase their skills, creating a clash of gaming titans.
