10 December 2025Hlelolwenkosi Khoza from Curro Vanderbijlpark is competing at the ASA Primary Sub Youth Championships currently (5 and 6 December 2025) at NWU McArthur Stadium in Potchefstroom. The school’s message of support
In a message shared with families, the school wrote: ‘Wishing Hlelolwenkosi Khoza all the best!’ The school also highlighted his progress: ‘Hlelolwenkosi Khoza also competed in SACSSA Nationals in Pietermaritzburg in September 2025. Not only did Hlelo receive his SACSSA National Colours he broke two records at Nationals for 60m and 80m. He was also a top performer at the Curro inter Athletics earlier this year.’

A season of strong performances
Hlelolwenkosi’s progression through 2025 reflects steady development across school and national competitions. He earned his SACSSA National Colours at the Pietermaritzburg championship and broke two national records – one in the 60m and another in the 80m – placing him among the fastest sprinters in his age group.
His performances at the Curro inter-schools athletics meet earlier in the year also stood out, confirming consistent form across multiple events in the season. These results have contributed to his qualification for the ASA Primary Sub Youth Championships, one of South Africa’s most competitive age-group sprint environments.
The championship brings together provincial contenders from the Under-9 to Under-13 categories.
