Curro Somerset West crowned football champions

Curro Somerset West’s Under-13 boys football team has returned triumphant after winning the Saints U13 Football Tournament, recently hosted by St Andrew’s School in Bloemfontein. The annual event is recognised for its competitive spirit, strong organisation, and focus on sportsmanship and development.

This year’s tournament featured top regional and independent schools from across several provinces, with teams competing over multiple days in a series of closely contested matches. The Curro Somerset West Jaguars lifted the trophy after a series of standout performances that showcased their skill, teamwork, and composure on the field.

 

 

Talent recognised through teamwork

Every player played a part in the Jaguars’ success, contributing to the team’s cohesion and energy throughout the tour. The event also provided a platform for individual recognition, with several Curro Somerset West players receiving special honours:

  • Golden Boot: Bukho Tatana
  • Defender of the Tournament: Manyande Bandla
  • Attacker of the Tournament: Bukho Tatana
  • Player of the Tournament: Kairav Makan
