Curro Aurora celebrates rising talent
19 November 2025A Curro Aurora Grade 9 learner, Jamie Howard, has been selected for the Indoor Southern Gauteng U16 A Hockey Team. This achievement highlights her growth as a young athlete and reflects the hard work she has invested in the sport.
The school said, ‘We are incredibly proud of Curro Aurora’s High School learner (Grade 9), Jamie Howard, who has been selected for the Indoor Southern Gauteng U16 A Hockey Team! This is a phenomenal achievement, and we know how much dedication, discipline, and passion she has put in to reach this level.’

Representing Southern Gauteng at provincial level
Jamie will join players from across the province under the banner of the Southern Gauteng Hockey Association (SGHA), which oversees hockey development across Johannesburg, Sedibeng, and the West Rand. SGHA’s teams compete in structured indoor competitions and national events, including matches that feature some of the strongest provincial sides in the country.
Indoor hockey matches for Gauteng teams often take place at the Randburg Hockey Stadium, a well-known venue for provincial fixtures and training.
Jamie will travel to KwaZulu-Natal for her upcoming tournament, where she will compete against top provincial teams from across South Africa. The school added, ‘Please join us in congratulating Jamie and wishing her the very best of luck as she heads to KZN for her upcoming tournament!’
