Creston College’s Ulwando earns SKZN Swimming Colours
02 March 2026Grade 7 learner Ulwando Khuzwayo has achieved SKZN Swimming Colours after meeting the required provincial qualifying times at sanctioned competitions in KwaZulu-Natal.
The award recognises swimmers who reach strict age-group standards set within the KwaZulu-Natal Aquatics framework, aligned to Swimming South Africa competition structures.

Meeting provincial standards
To earn SKZN Colours, swimmers must achieve specific qualifying times during approved events across the season. These performances are recorded under provincial oversight and reflect consistent competition at recognised galas.
Ulwando trains with Blue Ocean Aquatics (BOA) at Creston College, a competitive swim club on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast that prepares athletes for district, regional and national events.
‘Congratulations to Ulwando Khuzwayo (Grade 7) on achieving SKZN Swimming Colours,’ the school proudly stated.
Competitive pathway in KwaZulu-Natal
KwaZulu-Natal Aquatics oversees swimming in the province, scheduling sanctioned competitions and maintaining rankings. Performances at these events contribute toward honours such as SKZN Colours.
Clubs across the province celebrate this distinction, which signals that a swimmer has reached recognised competitive benchmarks within their division.
Blue Ocean Aquatics supports athletes through structured squad training and hosts regular meets, including in-house Club Championships and seasonal galas that feed into the broader provincial calendar.
‘Each swimmer who achieved this honour represented their school with commitment, determination and outstanding sportsmanship,’ the school concluded.
