16 July 2025Curro Parkdene’s Bajabulile Nobathana delivered a near-flawless performance at the 2025 National Gymnastic Championships, held recently at Wildfare. Competing in a private capacity, she left no doubt about her abilities – achieving perfect scores in multiple categories and solidifying her place as a standout talent in the sport.

Perfect scores and podium success
Bajabulile scored a perfect 10 on the floor routine, 10 on the bars, and 10 for values. Her performance on the balance beam was just shy of perfection, earning her an impressive 9.85. These scores translated into two trophies and five medals – an extraordinary feat at any level of competition.
While some spectators referred to the event as ‘the Olympics’ due to its intensity and the calibre of athletes competing, it was not affiliated with the official Olympic Games. To avoid confusion, Curro Parkdene confirmed that the event was formally titled the National Gymnastic Championships.
An inspiration to her peers
‘Her success is a shining example of what hard work and determination can achieve. She’s not just a champion in the gym – she’s a role model for our entire school community,’ the school shared.
Staff at Curro Parkdene have been vocal in their support, noting the discipline and quiet confidence Bajabulile brings to everything she does. From early morning training to consistent academic effort, her drive is visible beyond the mat.
Support, strength, and school pride
The school also acknowledged the powerful role that her support network played in this journey. ‘This milestone was made even more special thanks to the encouragement of her friends and the unwavering belief of her parents, who stood by her every step of the way,’ said the team.
