Curro boarding schools connect with families in Botswana
17 February 2026Boarding opportunities across Southern Africa took centre stage when Curro Boarding Schools engaged families at the annual Broadhurst Independent High Schools’ Expo in Gaborone on 8 February.
The expo brought together more than 30 schools from Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Parents attended to explore high school pathways and compare academic and boarding options for their children.

Showcasing 11 Curro boarding schools
Curro’s stand presented all 11 Curro boarding schools, offering detailed insight into campus life, academic programmes and co-curricular opportunities. With boarding schools located across South Africa and one in Windhoek, Namibia, Curro provides structured residential environments designed to support both academic focus and personal development.
Families engaged directly with Paul van den Berg, Project Leader: Schools and Boarding Schools Marketing, as well as Benji Modiko and Mpumi Katane from Curro Mahikeng, and Adrian Misi from Northern Academy. Two boarding prefects from Curro Mahikeng, Wame Loretta Moses and Pako Breseno, who are Botswana citizens, also spoke to parents about their boarding experience and daily life on campus.
Visitors received Curro-branded shopper bags, information booklets, fact sheets, branded pens and seed pencils aligned to the theme ‘Board with Heart. Grow with Curro.’ A large screen displayed a curated video highlighting academics, Curro Create, Curro Sport, and learner achievements across the group. The 2026 matric teddy added a light-hearted element to the stand.

Curro’s expanding regional presence
Curro currently comprises 189 schools across 81 campuses in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. The boarding network forms a key part of this footprint, offering families access to independent education beyond their immediate region.
Participation in the Broadhurst Expo strengthened Curro’s visibility among Botswana families considering cross-border schooling. The event created space for detailed conversations about boarding structures, academic pathways and support systems available to learners.

Information session for Curro Baobab parents
Ahead of the expo, the Curro marketing team hosted a dedicated boarding information session for Curro Baobab parents on 7 February. The school hall filled with families keen to understand the value and logistics of boarding within the Curro network.
The session focused on practical considerations, academic continuity and the opportunities available across Curro’s boarding campuses.
As families across the region evaluate high school options, Curro Boarding Schools continue to position themselves as a structured and supportive pathway for learners seeking broader academic and residential experiences.
