Curro Serengeti learner Alicia Oldjohn becomes award winning author

Curro Serengeti learner Alicia Oldjohn is a 12-year-old award-winning author, who started writing her first book when she was just eight years old. In addition to writing, Alicia is an avid reader. She also loves dancing, drama, ice-skating and riding her bicycle.

Losing My Best Friend is a heart-warming tale that takes you on a journey with Gabrielle and her best friend as they discover friendship, create beautiful memories and so much more. The book is aimed at every child from Grade R to Grade 4, and is currently in the process of being translated into Afrikaans.

Through her writing, Alicia would like to make a significant contribution to the success of her peers. The young author has appeared in Kempton Express, Benoni City Times, The Sowetan and Daily Sun. Alicia also had her first radio debut with Metro FM. Subsequent to that have been interviews on CapeTalk, Classic FM and Radio Pulpit, as well as a guest appearance on Morning Live (SABC2). Look out for her activity book and Two Sisters on a Journey, which was published May 2020.
