Curro Heritage House celebrates Prian Moodley’s success at CAO Arts Competition

Congratulations to Prian Moodley, a talented high school learner at Curro Heritage House, for his outstanding achievement at the CAO High Schools Arts Competition! Prian’s artwork earned him a third-place finish in the senior category among 50 finalists from an initial pool of 300 entrants.

Reflecting on his journey, Prian shared his perspective on art and success: ‘The key to success with art is being honest and vulnerable, exploring topics that you are passionate about. Something that really helps is being outspoken and friendly towards fellow artists. Additionally, showing up and representing the school is important in achieving a good image.’ He described the event as “a thrilling experience” with a grand ceremony that felt ‘like stepping into a masterpiece itself.’

Prian shared his excitement at winning prize money for himself and contributing to the school. In a heartfelt gesture, he donated his artwork to George van der Ross, CEO of CAO, who warmly accepted the piece. ‘This whole experience has been eye-opening, and I’m truly grateful for the recognition of my hard work. It feels amazing to see my art appreciated,’ Prian said.

The message from Curro Heritage House to Prian included a quote by Picasso – ‘Every child is an artist’, followed by a ‘You are truly living that spirit!’
