Courtney House’s Kylie Leung excels in academics, sports, and beyond

Courtney House International School’s Year 6 learner, Kylie Leung, has achieved remarkable success across academics, sports, and cultural activities. From gymnastics triumphs to mathematics excellence, this ten-year-old’s talents have earned her recognition on both national and international platforms.

Top achievements in mathematics

Kylie’s exceptional mathematical ability shone at the 2024 AMESA South African Mathematics Challenge, where she scored a perfect 100%, earning a Gold Award and placing in the top 1% nationally. Additionally, she secured second place overall in the Grade 6 division of the South African National Mathematics Olympiad, a prestigious competition endorsed by the Department of Science and Innovation.

Success on the gymnastics floor

Kylie also excelled at the Gauteng North Gymnastics Association competition in August. She achieved first place in bars, beam, floor, and overall categories, along with a third-place finish in vault. Her outstanding performances reflect her dedication to mastering multiple disciplines.

Cultural achievements

On top of everything she recently participated in International Kids Fashion Week in Japan, showcasing authentic Japanese styles on the runway and embracing the culture. She is now set to take part in International Fashion Week in Paris. And finally her commitment to making a difference was evident earlier this year when she raised funds to donate new school shoes to children in a rural community.

An inspiration to peers

A message from the school read, ‘Kylie has been a learner at Courtney House since the age of three, and she continues to inspire us with her passion and determination. Her achievements in gymnastics, mathematics, and her cultural pursuits show what young learners can accomplish with focus and hard work.’

Congratulations to Kylie on her incredible accomplishments!
