Curro Vanderbijlpark wins Lenovo #SmarterStories competition

Technology has become an integral part of our daily lives and has drastically changed the way we learn, work, and communicate. With its continuous evolution, it's important for schools to stay updated with the latest technological advancements to provide their learners with the best education possible. Sometimes, it only takes one person to take a chance and enter a competition, for a school to reap the benefits.

This is exactly what happened at Curro Vanderbijlpark during the second term when Helgardt Hoffmann decided to take a leap of faith and enter the Lenovo #SmarterStories competition.

The competition required participants to write a brief article about how their organisation utilises technology, and judges would then select a lucky winner. This competition was originated by Lenovo International in the United States, which meant that the victorious organisation would be rewarded with an astounding $5 000 worth of prizes.

To the school's surprise and delight, Curro Vanderbijlpark was announced as the winner of the competition, all thanks to Helgardt's initiative. Lenovo's offices in South Africa contacted the school to help them choose devices that would benefit them significantly in teaching, eSports, IT-related subjects, and Robotics.

Curro Vanderbijlpark is immensely grateful for this exceptional prize. This opportunity allows the school to enhance their technological capabilities in the classroom, empowering learners in this digitally driven era.

The school hopes to utilise these devices effectively and efficiently, making a difference in the way their learners interact with technology.
