Curro Brackenfell adds High School Grades

In response to the resounding demand for quality education in the thriving community of Brackenfell, Curro is proud to announce the much-anticipated extension of its current Curro Brackenfell campus.

Scheduled to welcome Grade 8 learners in January 2024, this exciting and contemporary addition will complement Curro’s existing pre-primary and primary schools, establishing a complete educational offering under one roof.

Responding to community demand head on

Brackenfell has quickly evolved into one of Cape Town's most rapidly growing areas, and the demand for a dedicated high school has been nothing short of overwhelming. Families from Curro Brackenfell Primary School and the broader community have passionately called for an expansion of the school’s quality education for older learners.

The expansion will commence with Grade 8 in 2024, followed by the gradual integration of higher grades while fostering an intimate and nurturing learning environment with a learner-teacher ratio that facilitates personalised attention and academic growth.

The new addition will provide learners with a diverse and comprehensive curriculum that cultivates a well-rounded education. In Grade 8 and Grade 9, learners will have access to a range of subjects including creative arts, coding and robotics, and technology. As they progress into Grade 10 to Grade 12, learners will continue to benefit from a stimulating academic journey, along with elective subjects such as life and physical sciences, business studies, computer applications technology, geography, and history.

Visionary leadership from the get-go

JP le Roux, the incoming Executive Head of Curro Brackenfell, is an educational visionary with a clear aim for the school's future, "I envision Curro Brackenfell as an exciting world-class institution where learning brings out the best in teachers and learners alike."

Le Roux further emphasises that the school is dedicated to nurturing leadership skills, promoting community engagement, optimising technology, and offering a rich array of extracurricular activities, from sports to music and arts.
