Cobus Loubser
​​​​​​​Chief Executive Officer

Cobus left his position as Long4Life’s Sport and Recreation division CEO at the end of 2020 to join Curro as CFO from January 2021. He was appointed CEO in January 2023. He started his career at KPMG, served as financial manager at Virgin Active SA, and held the CFO position at Holdsport CFO for 11 years, before joining Long4Life.

Burtie September
​​​​​​​Chief Financial Officer 

Burtie is a chartered accountant who completed his SAICA articles at Deloitte, Cape Town before joining Deloitte’s office in Indianapolis in the USA on a secondment. He worked at South African Breweries as a management accountant at one of its largest distribution centres in South Africa before he was employed as a senior accountant at Woolworths Financial Services. He joined Curro as financial manager in 2016 and was appointed CFO in January 2023.

Bernardt van der Linde
Chief Operating Officer

Bernardt was an audit manager at Pricewaterhouse-Coopers Inc., after which he joined Finweek. He joined PSG Group Ltd in 2007, where he was, inter alia, part of the executive team at Paladin (now PSG Alpha Investments). He joined Curro as CFO in 2011 and was appointed COO in 2020.

André Pollard

André Pollard is the Executive: Curriculum and implements the curriculum across all our models. He has been with the group for over a decade and provides expertise in operational, curriculum, and quality management.

Shaun McMurtry
Executive: Business Operations

Shaun has over 35 years’ experience in education, gained at some of South Africa’s most exceptional schools, which is of immense benefit in this role. His career at Curro began when he was appointed as Grantleigh’s executive head. He moved into education management as general manager of our KZN-based schools and is currently the Executive: Business Operations responsible for schools in the Curro model.

Fergus Sampson​
​​​​​​​Executive: Business Operations

Fergus joined Curro in January 2018 and is the Executive: Meridian and Academies. The Meridian Schools are managed in an arrangement with Old Mutual. Prior to Curro, Fergus was the CEO of Media24 Newspapers and a founder of the national newspaper The Daily Sun.
