Woodhill College has a high school in Pretoria that provides high-quality education for learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12, at the end of which the IEB examinations are written. Our small class sizes, enhanced curriculum and international-standard facilities provide learners with 21st-century skills and knowledge to grow into self-confident individuals. While we adopt the latest research in providing a well-rounded education, we balance innovation with well-established, effective teaching methods. We also offer more specialised options to our learners, such as a STEAMD classroom and leadership programmes.
Our philosophy is based on Christian values
Our school philosophy is based on Christian values (ethics and morals) and incorporates academics, sport, culture, and community in our holistic approach.
Senior phase: Grade 8 and Grade 9
In these grades, we guide learners to adjust to a greater workload of higher intensity. As a Curro Select school, our enhanced curriculum places a great emphasis on problem-solving and individual thinking, while 21st-century learning is implemented in subjects such as Engineering Graphics and Design, Drama, and Dance Studies. Furthermore, learners may use tablets in class, and they receive guidance when choosing their elective subjects at the end of Grade 9.
FET phase: Grade 10 to Grade 12
This phase prepares learners for the IEB examinations written at the end of Grade 12. However, we emphasise a greater world-readiness rather than a purely examination-driven approach. As an added benefit to going to school in small class sizes, our learners are taught to think innovatively, express their ideas and take charge of their own lives to one day reach their goals and become self-confident, achieving adults. Specialised subjects include Information Technology and Life Sciences to provide learners with 21st-century skills.
We use tablets in class
High school learners may choose to use tablets in class rather than textbooks, or as a tool to enhance the learning experience. This further prepares them for the workplace of the future.

A wider subject choice
High school learners can now extend their subject choices beyond what is offered at our school. Learners can choose from a wide range of subjects, and classes will take place during the school day in the form of live lessons with teachers. Learners remain enrolled at our school, and marks appear on their regular progress reports. These subjects can be seen as an extension of our enhanced curriculum from which our learners already benefit. Learners remain enrolled at our school, regular assignments and the IEB examination is still written, and their marks reflect on their regular progress reports.
