Facilities

Aftercare

Our aftercare service is available at an additional cost, as stipulated on our fees letter. Children are accommodated in safe classrooms and playgrounds, and the fees include a freshly prepared meal for lunch, as well as safe supervision and limited homework support.

Teachers have assistants

Our classes are divided by age and each teacher has one or more assistants, depending on the group and the number of children in the class. This ensures that each child gets the care and attention they need, and that they can optimally benefit from our preschool programme.

Wonderful outdoor play areas

Children need to run and play during the day to ensure good emotional and physical health. This is a great part of early childhood development. Our outdoor play areas include jungle gyms, playhouses, balancing beams, fruit and veggie garden, mud kitchen, sandpits, discovery room, music room, fairy garden, motorcycle and kick bike track.

Strict pickup protocols

When enrolling with us, you indicate which individuals have permission to pick up your children school. Should you ever need to make alternative arrangements, you can download a pickup consent form from our website, send it to the school, and send your child’s teacher a message informing them of the arrangement.

Teachers have first-aid training

Children wholeheartedly run, play, climb, and jump, which may sometimes lead to minor bumps and bruises. This is why all our teachers are trained in first aid. Please note that national regulations prohibit teachers from dispensing any medicine, even over-the-counter or herbal tonics, without a valid prescription signed by a medical doctor. Therefore, when a child needs medicine during the day, our first-aid officers dispense medicine in class only if a valid prescription is provided.

Have a look

Windhoek Gymnasium has a pre-primary school in Kleine Kuppe, Windhoek (Namibia), that provides high-quality early childhood development for children from 3 years to Grade R. Our classes are divided by age, and we carefully control the number of children per class to ensure that they are all cared for and entertained. Our pre-primary programme follows the Namibian curriculum and engages inherent curiosity and love of play, while supporting children’s well-being all-round. We also form part of the Curro school group, and teaching takes place in English, Afrikaans and German.
