At Grantleigh, learners have a wide variety of activities from which to choose. From school sports and Curro Create programmes, to community outreach projects and leadership programmes, our learners can gain 21st-century skills in nearly any field they choose.

School activities

As a Curro Select school, we believe that participation in school sports and cultural activities plays an important role in promoting health, team-awareness, discipline and self-confidence in addition to physical and social well-being. As our school has a strong school sports performance record, we offer a wide variety of activities, including specialised activities such as equestrian.

See which activities we offer on our fact sheet (see Downloads).

Clubs and societies

Grantleigh also has several clubs and societies that allow learners with similar interests to build relationships, develop 21st-century skills and collaborate on various projects. We guide learners interested in entering the President’s Award programme to complete the required sections, while the interact club organises outreach programmes.

Academic and cultural enrichment (ACE)

As a Curro Select school, our ACE programme provides enrichment opportunities outside the classroom to learners who achieve in humanities or sciences. These opportunities include excursions to theatres, art galleries or universities. The programme serves as great motivation for learners to achieve academically in their chosen field, in order to benefit from these excursions.

Curro Create

We offer two Curro Create programmes aimed at helping learners develop their creative talents to their full potential. Curro Arts Superhero (CAS) is an internal creative mentorship platform with a grading element, where learners are encouraged to discover, develop and display their inherent 21st-century skills and creative talents. As a Curro Select school, learners can also participate in the annual Curro Create National Youth Theatre Festival, for which schools enter a one-act play in any genre and official language. The winning plays are chosen through a series of adjudications by world-class theatre-makers, who closely mentor learners throughout the process.

Grantleigh alumni

Curro Alumni aims to reconnect former matriculants with one another and keep them updated on developments within the Curro family. By treasuring our past, we can build our future together. We hope to build a meaningful and personal connection with our members by sharing their success stories and staying updated on their lives through social media.

Alumni members enjoy several benefits, including exclusive offers for their children at selected schools. View Curro Alumni’s website for more information.

Grantleigh community outreach

As a Curro Select school based on Christian values (ethics and morals), we express the biblical principle of loving thy neighbour by improving the lives of less-fortunate members of our community. Therefore, our school hosts a variety of community outreach programmes during the year and learners are actively involved in the projects. Our high school’s interact club drives outreach programmes whereby learners are actively involved in all phases of the programme. They offer financial support to a number of orphanages or children’s homes, provide help to our own school community, and host Easter-egg drives for less privileged learners in surrounding schools.

Learners also actively support programmes in the following ways:

  • Support Walk for Life
  • Collect stationery and books for less privileged schools
  • Offer time and assistance to the SPCA
  • Participate in Winter Warmth and Toy Story
