At Curro Waterfall, a Curro School, learners have a wide variety of activities from which to choose. Many of our school sports and cultural activities form part of our school fees and learners can gain 21st-century skills in nearly any field they choose.
School activities
We believe that participation in school sports and cultural activities plays an important role in promoting health, team-awareness, discipline and self-confidence in addition to physical and social well-being. Therefore, learners are encouraged to participate in our variety of sports and cultural activities, which include specialised activities such as sound and lighting engineering and swimming. While healthy competition is encouraged, the enjoyment of the game is not compromised.
See which activities we offer on our fact sheet (see Downloads).
Curro Create
As a Curro School, we offer Curro Create programmes aimed at helping learners develop their creative talents to their full potential. Curro Arts Superhero (CAS) is an internal creative mentorship platform with a grading element, where learners are encouraged to discover, develop and display their inherent 21st-century skills and creative talents. Learners can also participate in the annual Curro Create National Youth Theatre Festival, wherein schools enter a one-act play in any genre and official language. The winning plays are chosen through a series of adjudications by world-class theatre-makers, who closely mentor learners throughout the process.
Extramural activities
Extramural activities at Curro Waterfall are offered by external tutors or coaches. They are offered at a cost additional to our school fees and generally take place on the school’s premises. Some extramural activities are aimed at improving or supporting academic learning or mental and physical development, while others are purely recreational.
Value-added programmes
At our Curro School we have value-added programmes as part of the school fees, many which promote the development of 21st-century skills.
