School transport

At Curro Salt Rock, our school transport service is available to learners travelling to and from our school, at an additional cost as stipulated on our school fees letter (see Downloads).

Modern classrooms

As a Curro School, we have created a safe, modern environment where children can grow accustomed to learning and working with modern equipment and facilities. Our classrooms are designed to create a feeling of learning through educational decorations, but without causing undue distraction. Classrooms for specialised subjects, such as Computer Applications Technology (CAT), Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) and Visual Arts, are equipped with the latest technology and tools that provide learners with 21st-century skills and allow them to interact with the learned material through experiments or projects.

We use tablets in class

We aim to embrace 21st-century skills at our Curro School by giving learners the option to use tablets in class. Using tablets in class allows teachers to provide learners with a wealth of information at the touch of a button, and prepares them for the workplace of the future

Parent Advisory Committee

We encourage parents to play a role in managing our school through a duly-elected parent advisory committee (PAC). As the name indicates, the PAC’s role is strictly an advisory one – they do not make or enforce decisions regarding school matters. The committee comprises parents of current children.

At Curro Salt Rock, our PAC acts as liaison between the school and parents, raises funds through specific events throughout the year, and hosts social and fellowship events. Through the PAC, parents can share their input in a structured manner to the benefit of the learners and school; as a community they can, therefore, be involved in the operational success of the school.

Activity facilities

Our wide variety of activities and events is hosted on state-of-the-art courts and fields to promote the development of 21st-century skills.

• An eight-lane swimming pool (1,8 m deep, 25 m long)
• Two large sports fields for rugby, cricket, hockey, cross-country, etc.
• Two changing rooms
• Cricket nets 
• Indoor hockey/soccer facility

We also have a modern culture studio near the school hall, where music and drama are taught. Facilities include prop storage rooms, a kitchen, changing rooms, classrooms and music tuition rooms. 

Therapists

Our high-school learners may arrange sessions with an in-house psychologist at no additional cost.

Our school is located in the quiet, luxury New Salt Rock City estate in Salt Rock, Ballito – a beautiful holiday town on the Dolphin Coast. Our school is just off the N2, but surrounded by beautiful scenery and easily accessible via Salt Rock Road. We are conveniently close to many shops and restaurants, and nearby attractions include the Ballito Junction Regional Mall as well as the Simbithi Country Club. The stunning Salt Rock Beach, with the Salt Rock Tidal Pool and Granny’s Pool, is less than 5 minutes away for fun and educational excursions. We also offer a school transport service to our learners at a cost in addition to our school fees.
