Welcome home
At Curro Heuwelkruin, we know that learners perform best when they feel safe, supported, and comfortable in their living spaces. This is why we went to great lengths to create a warm, caring home where your child can enjoy their school years while being support academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
What we offer
Our delicious meals are prepared on site by a chef and are served in a lovely dining room. All our staff are trained in first aid, and they monitor your child’s academic progress. Our learning areas have comfortable work stations and our boarders even have access to a gymnasium. Other services include laundry and housekeeping, DStv and Wi-Fi. Our boarding staff act as parents of sorts who care for boarders physical, emotionally, and spiritually. They also offer personal comfort for boarders who become homesick.
The housing arrangements
Our boarding school is made up of modular flats with en-suite bathrooms and only two boarders per flat – there are no long passages or shared ablutions. The layout of the building is of such nature that the boys and girls are accommodated on opposite sides of the house. We encourage boarders to make their rooms feel like a home and we encourage friendships between roommates.
Our boarding school is closed over weekends, and opens on Sunday evenings with the first meal being Monday morning’s breakfast. Boarders leave for home after Friday’s lunch, although boarders who have sports meets over weekends may stay in. These boarders will receive full meals throughout the weekend. We are, however, fully closed during school holidays.
