Curro Delft High School

Curro Delft is an innovative, technologically-advanced high school located in Delft, Cape Town. Our modern, technology-rich school offers a unique approach to e-learning in class and accommodates learners in Grades 8 to 10, with higher grades phasing in annually. As a Curro DigiEd school, we provide learners with 21st-century skills to prepare them for the fourth industrial revolution. To do this, we focus on a project-based learning programme that emphasises Science, Mathematics, Robotics and Coding. Through this approach, we aim to provide the most affordable school fees without compromising our high academic standards.

What is the Curro DigiEd approach?

At our school, teaching takes place through innovative methods, such as incorporating videos and e-learning in class, with teachers and tutors providing one-on-one assistance as needed. By moving the teachers away from the whiteboard and into the classroom, learners can get more immediate and personal assistance to understand a particular concept before moving on. This also helps to ensure that we can keep our promise of affordable school fees.

With a great focus on 21st-century skills, we offer advanced classes in Science, Mathematics, Robotics and Coding. Learners are prepared to write the NSC (National Senior Certificate) examinations at the end of Grade 12, with a wider focus on world-readiness and preparing them for the fourth industrial revolution.

Longer school hours and little to no homework

At Curro Delft, our longer school hours accommodate the schedules of working parents and further prepare learners for the long hours at the workplace. In addition, learners in Grades 8 and 9 receive little to no homework, while learners in Grades 10 to 12 receive homework mostly to cement their understanding of the learning material. As part of our affordable school fees, learners can be dropped off early in the morning when parents are on their way to work after work. This means that home time is family time.

Our learners gain 21st-century skills

As a Curro DigiEd school, we strongly emphasise independent thinking, collaboration, communication, and self-discipline by using interactive learning material and e-learning in class. Soft skills such as these are in high demand in the workplace, as the fourth industrial revolution is leading to a greater need of interpersonal skills. By helping learners develop these 21st-century skills through subjects such as Robotics, they are better prepared to excel not only in academic assessments, but in future-focused thinking and our wider world-readiness approach.
